PUBLISHED ON CBC NEWS 22 MARCH 2010 AS: CALL FOR CENTRAL NL WALK-IN CLINICS
This is the presentation that the government cancelled because it was proposed by a New Democratic Party Candidate.
What do you think?

A man who's been fighting for more walk-in medical clinics in central Newfoundland says he's disappointed that the government doesn't seem receptive to the idea.
Robin Brentnall was supposed to pitch his idea to Health Minister Jerome Kennedy at a meeting Monday.
However, on Friday, Brentnall was told the meeting was cancelled.
He says people in the area often face a long drive to the nearest hospital.
"For sicknesses, flus, ailments, to have to get up and dress and drive, you know, an hour on a snowy winter road to go in and sit in Gander or Clarenville in the hospital for four or five hours waiting in line in the emergency room is crazy," said Brentnall.
He said he's not going to give up on the idea and will keep lobbying government to listen to his concerns.

LEWISPORTE DISTRICT MHA SUPPORTS BASHING OF FORMER NUN
PUBLISHED IN THE TELEGRAM NEWSPAPER 1 JUNE 2010 AS: HOW ABOUT THAT APOLOGY
...
When asked to support a request to have the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador apologize in the House of Assembly for comments directed at the Leader of the New Democratic Party, Lorraine Michael (a former Nun), Wade Verge, PC MHA for Lewisporte District stated "I will not do as you have requested".
Mr. Verge states that he is a member of a local Church in Lewisporte and also said "I have accused some people of being "Holier than thou" in some situations. This expression, in my mind is an expression of disgust with a self righteous attitude being portrayed by an individual."
It should be noted that Lorraine Michael was asking a legitimate question during Question Period in the House of Assembly when Premier Danny Williams berated her and slung slurs of "Sermon on the Mount" and "Holier Than Thou" directly at Ms. Michael.
When asked if he would ask his Church fellowship what they thought of his decision, Mr. Verge would not comment.

House Apology Needed
...
Members of the House of Assembly:
As you are aware, Premier Williams had attacked the Leader of the NDP, Lorraine Michael, by patronizing her former career by making statements of "Sermon on the Mount" and "Holyer Than Thou" in a session of the House of Assembly. Having been sworn in and informed of the conduct that is acceptable and unacceptable in the House, I ask you to stand on Monday, 3 May 2010, and request the Premier apologize to Lorraine Michael for using religious comments to a former Nun of the Roman Catholic Church.
For those of you who believe that Clergy have no place in the politics, let me give you a history lesson on the man voted "The Greatest Canadian", Tommy Douglas, a Baptist Minister.
During his 42 years in politics, Tommy Douglas proved himself as an outstanding Canadian leader. He is largely responsible for our central banking, old age pensions, unemployment insurance, and our universal Medicare. When asked why he stayed with NDP when he could have done better with a more powerful party, Douglas simply replied, "I have watched politicians for the last forty years drop their principles in order to get power only to find that those who paid and controlled the party which they joined prevented them from all the things they really believed in."³To the end of his days Tommy Douglas was true to himself, to what he stood for, and to the people he represented. (Taken from an article written by Kevin Wong, Winner of the Norm Quan Bursary)
As you can see, Clergy have the People in mind when it comes to politics, as does Lorraine Michael and indeed Marshall Dean.
I have included in this e-mail all of the NL media and invite them to witness this show of solidarity for the Rules of the House of Assembly. Governments may change, Premiers will change, but the respect for the House of Assembly is what keeps our Province in good hands. Failing to follow the rules can only lead to anarchy.
Thank you in advance.

The House Of Assembly
PUBLISHED IN THE CHARTER NEWSPAPER 19 MAY 2010 AS: INAPPROPRIATE REMARKS
...
To The Speaker of the House of Assembly:
Mr. Speaker:
I was appauled at the behavior of Premier Danny Williams last week when he stood in YOUR House of Assembly and berated the Leader of the NDP by making references to the Bible with comments of "Sermon on the Mount" and "Holyer than Thou". The Leader of the NDP is a Former Nun of the Roman Catholic Church and to make statements such as those is not only condescending to a Member of the House of Assemby but a blatant disregard for a persons religious devotions, which I consider an act that goes against the Canadian Human Rights to publicly make reference to one's religious devotions in a negative way. If the Premier had said similar things to a person of Jewish faith or of an Islamic religion, there would have been a media uproar.
I had asked you to ask the Premier to apologize to the Leader of the NDP in the House of Assembly when he returned. If he does not apologize, I asked that you order him out of the House for the remainder of the day, just as you had done with Marshall Dean, MHA, when he called the Minister of Health and Community Services "deceitful" and the protestors who were fighting for the Air Ambulance in St. Anthony when they refused to remain quiet.
In watching the broadcast on 29 April 2010, the Premier's first day back, no apology was noted or even asked of the Premier. I did notice that Mr. Kennedy was more than adamant not to answer a question on healthcare in YOUR House of Assembly when asked by Lorraine Michael, instead choosing to concentrate his efforts on asking the Leader of the NDP what she would do to the author of a comment on Facebook that made comment of the Premier and giving reference to a Black Heart and Bullet Hole.
The Leader of the NDP stated that she has no control over those who are not in the House, a truth spoken by a remarkable woman. I was a candidate in a recent By-Election and had the pleasure of working with this fascinating lady. It was prior to my involvement with Ms. Michael that I noted the Premier himself making a statement to the entire province during a media scrum making reference to the Lab Doctors that "they should be shot". This was within his control, unlike Ms. Michael.
It would appear the Newfoundland dielect does support such quotes and that is probably the reason for the Facebook comment. We have all heard the saying "he got a Black Heart" meaning he/she is not very compassionate and other comments that refer to "Bullet Hole to the Head" as meaning he/she should get some common sense.
Therefore, on the next open day in the House of Assembly, I ask that you once again order the Premier to apologize to Ms. Michael for his religious comments and I also now ask that the Minister of Health and Community Services apologize for bringing up something in the House of Assembly that she has no control over, just as you and any other MHA cannot control. This is within your control, unlike Ms. Michael.
I await you answer and commitment to carry out the protocol of the House of Assembly, afterall, it is YOUR responsibility and within YOUR control to protect it's long standing respect for all Members.

CHECKMATE PLAN?
PUBLISHED IN THE TELEGRAM NEWSPAPER 6 MAY 2010 AS: WHAT'S COOKING
...
Fabian Manning is talking about giving up a seat in the Senate, the dream job of any politician, just to try running for the Conservatives in the same seat he lost in the ABC Campaign. Who in their right mind would quit a job that pays very well ($132,000 a year plus expenses and is guaranteed until he turns 75) to take a chance on running for Member of Parliament ($75,000 a year) and no guarantee of being elected? Does Fabian know something we don't?
Danny Williams and Stephan Harper are having meetings to discuss many things. That's what they say.
What if Danny's last excursion to Ottawa was to give Stephan the "all clear" and guarantee Newfoundlanders and Labradorians will vote for the Conservatives if an election is called? Danny was successful on the ABC Campaign. Will he now have a campaign to vote only Conservative? What would he call it? Maybe CAOF (Conservatives Are Our Friends) or maybe ADHD (A Danny Harper Deal).
To kill Healthcare in NL, Danny Williams and Stephan Harper will have to have everything in place. House of Assembly full of Conservatives: CHECK. Healthcare in Ruins: CHECK. Doctors and Nurses ready to walk: CHECK. Federal Government seats in NL full of Conservatives, ???. Maybe that check will come during the next Federal Election. Then it's CHECKMATE for our Healthcare System in NL and the beginning of it in the rest of Canada.
Scary I know, but what do you think?

Our Tax Dollars
...
If a large, profitable corporation and a medical association (Cancer, Heart and Stroke, etc) came to your door asking for a donation, which would you give your hard earned money to?
Now ask yourself, why does the NL government think it's ok to give tax dollars to corporations but not our Healthcare System? Your first instinct was with your heart, but our brain can be fooled. Don't let it be fooled again. 2011!!!

Because nothing was done, I am of the belief that the House Of Assembly and the Premier openly practice Anti-Catholicism and that the House of Assembly support the Premier's lack of respect for people of the Cloth.
